…run my first sub-4 hour marathon.
…PR at 10 miles or in a half marathon.
…I’m considering doing an Olympic distance tri… (it’s looking like it will be with no wetsuit and a hybrid.) In truth, this might not happen b/c of these factors-but it’s on the radar.
…do an open water swim, even if it’s only in training.
…find somewhere to play tennis.
…settle into the local sports scene wherever I end up next fall.
…think about playing on an outdoor soccer team in the spring. (depends on if I’m moving).
…learn how to cross-country ski and snow-shoe.
So far on my race calendar is the Go Vertical stair climb in early February and the Hyannis 10K in late February.
And for the rest of me:
…stop using the word “like” in conversation. (When I started hearing the international students at school use this in conversation-having picked it up from us-I realized just how weird and bad it sounds.)
…update my computer skills (I am on my way with this blog!)
…sight-see Boston before I (maybe) leave.
…dress better. (I feel like I should put this on here b/c I am 25…but I don’t really want to. I like the sporty look [my parents would call it sloppy…]. So without motivation, with the need to bike everywhere, and the rainy Boston weather, I don’t really see this one happening even though I think dressing better makes you look more capable.)
Today’s running notes: a 40 minute run by myself through the local town. It was rural, quaint, and a bit worn around the edges. However, the backdrop to every inch of the town was the mountains. It was a beautiful morning jaunt.
Thanks for the heads-up about the new URL.
Best of luck with the 2006 goals. An open water swim is very cool...it's quite a different feeling than the pool, especially under race conditions.

I am sad that you've left elite running, but I can understand it.
Good luck with your 2006 goals!! I am sure that if you're willing to travel you can find an olympic distance tri for which you don't need a wet suit. And of course you are welcome in Colorado any time to ski/snowshoe.
