Hello blog! Things have been very busy recently but today is the first day of my 18 day vacation. Oh yes, I have 18 days off in a row. It's hard to wrap my mind around. I am still employed and I really do have a job I am returning to after 18 days, but I am in the fortunate position of not having any big projects going on and being able to take most of my time off. I will be checking in here and there, as most people probably do these days, but for the most part, I am free to workout, holiday shop, watch on-line tv, see my family, and plan my wedding. This is a great time of year to take off b/c most of my colleagues and clients will soon be slowing down as well.
TODAY, I Said Yes to the Dress!!!!! I bought my wedding dress. YAY!!! I love it. I can tell it is the one b/c I was completely apathetic trying on all the ones after it (my sister was shopping with me for the first time and she asked, "Why aren't you excited? I want you to be excited!") and I wasn't happy until I dragged her to the first store I had visited (I had previously gone alone to scope dresses out) to model THE ONE. I got happy once I had it back on, she got teary-eyed, and DONE DEAL.
Training is going well. My tri club is participating in USAT's winter challenge. We are beating all of the other clubs. In the entire country. True statement!! It's currently "swim month" and while I don't add much value in that discipline I am doing okay overall. It's hysterical sorting results by age group b/c I can see Beth and Barb in there-who I have known as bloggers since 2005!
Racing-wise, J4 and I may do a destination marathon (for him) and half marathon (for me) in the spring in Eugene, OR, in April. We both have our name in the DC Cherry Blossom 10-miler lottery, also in April. I would REALLY REALLY like to go sub-20 for 5K. Soon. That has been a multi-year goal for me!!! I am competing at ITU short course worlds in London in September. I am sure I will do some local free racing. There are a bunch of women around my speed that have been showing up to those recently and I think we will have some good competitions this year. And that is the update.
Old bloggers of yore reunite in the USAT winter challenge!!!! :) Your club is a beast. They crush everyone every year!! :) Can't wait to see how amazing you will look in your beautiful wedding dress! :)

Congrats on picking your dress!
You're so lucky to get to race in Eugene this spring! I wanted to do that race but have an exam the day after so I can't :(
Good luck on breaking 20 mins! I'm sure you'll do it.
