Since I've last written my running has had highs and lows.
The high was literally in the Mile Hile City. I was on a business trip to Denver and I got four runs at altitude in. I ran sixish miles each at the following locations:
1) Cherry Creek Running Path (Kind of sketchy-I had to turn back early so I could trail a guy jogger back who was running in the opposite direction so I would have nearby company as I ran back past the guy who had just catcalled me. Lots of people were out loitering in a not particularly safe feeling way and it was a touch isolated in certain spots.)
2) Cheesman Park (nice!)
3) City Park (AWESOME!)
4) City Park again (I hadn't seen all the awesomeness the first day)
The lows all occurred at sea level. The trip to Denver was sandwiched by two sprained ankles. Well, the same ankle. Two sprains. The first time was random. I stepped funny and the road wasn't smooth. My bad ankle rolled. J4 ran home and got the car to pick me up. I walked a couple miles back (the road was closed to cars) and he met up with me and drove me the rest of the way home.
This past Saturday I sprainkled my ankle 12 miles into a 14 mile trail run. I'm a moron. I shouldn't be trail running b/c my ankle is so crappy. It's my fault for choosing that run. J4, good man that he is, walked the final two miles out of the woods with me.
When I sprain my ankle it is SOOOO FRUSTRATING. UGH. UUUUGHGHGHGHGH.
My USA twosie for Sprint Worlds arrived and I am so motivated to train (I've been in the pool a little bit-enough that I know I need to train a lot more!!). Fingers crossed I heal from my recent ankle sprain quickly and I am up and about soon!!!
